THE COFFEE PROCESS

To get a full impression of the coffee process, visits to the farms are essential. The visits are also used for quality control. Most of the time they are unplanned and spontaneous for the coffee farmers. Attention is paid to the quality of the coffee trees, the condition of the forest and the working conditions.

In addition, the latest technical advances are communicated and suggestions for improvement are discussed.

THE COFFEE FRUIT

After the coffee plant has blossomed, the coffee fruits emerge on the plant. This causes the shade of the jungle to grow more slowly, but tastefully.

PICKED AND WASHED

The coffee fruits are picked exclusively by hand. They are then, further processed by a peeling and pre-sorting machine. This is where the pulp is separated from the coffee bean.

DRIED AND SORTED

The still wet coffee beans are dried in the sun for several days. Care is taken to ensure that there is the exact amount of residual moisture needed for the coffee beans. Next, beans are sorted by size and diameter. Finally sorted out by hand for the A + grade beans.

REFINED BEANS

The still raw beans are stored and packaged.
